This is a great way to make money online. Many people are confused though which is which and what their options on. Here is a brief overview:
Google Adsense is where you place other people’s ads on your site and Google pays you a percentage of the advertising revenue. This option is free to set up. You simply sign up for an account and place the code on your website, blog or hub page. Where you place the code is important though, so try to put it in high traffic areas of your site.
Google offers some great tutorials that teach you how to do this. Also consider putting google analytics code on every page of your site. This will allow you to tell where traffic is coming from and which pages have generated the most interest. You want your highest paying ads on the pages with the most traffic.
For advanced users, Google also gives you the option of testing various sections of your individual pages to see where people are clicking the most. You then post ads in those sections.
Google Adwords is basically pay per click marketing. You pay Google to place your ads on other people’s sites. You then pay google a preset amount per click. You get traffic and Google gets ad revenue.
Be careful with this ppc technique though. If you do not know what you are doing, it can cost you hundreds or thousands of dollars in advertising revenue with no guarantee that you will make sales. I highly advise you to take a Google Training Course or to hire an experienced Adwords professional to manage your campaigns for you. You should have no problem finding either online.
The bottom line is that both of these techniques have the potential to make you money. If you are considering placing Google Adwords on your site, you may want to combine them with ads from other affiliate programs. Google Ads pay a small amount per click, whereas affiliate programs generally pay out a much higher percentage. The downside of most affiliate programs though is that they only pay per sale. The exception to this is PPA affiliate programs which can pay for either a lead or a click.
I recommend all of the techniques above if you want to make money online. Google Adwords Adsense and Affiliate programs all have the potential to make you more money than you could earn in a year in most standard jobs. You just have to test them constantly to see what is working and what isn’t. This effort will be well worth it, as this is how internet fortunes are made.
